About Me
Seeking Balance With A Twist
I often do my gesture sketches live, fast, and in the moment, hoping to capture as much of the spirit of the movement as possible. When I draw figures or characters at rest, I push the pose to find energy through a twist for balance. I am inspired by people in action, in particular, because all people seek balance in every way our bodies move, even in something simple as walking down the street.
Training: With a degree in the Studio Arts, I also studied traditional cartoon animation, where the figure is almost always in motion.
Inspiration: I’ve had many teachers – one in particular I’d like to mention is Glenn Vilppu. His style of teaching gesture drawing allows many animators to draw intelligently. How he describes his relationship with art matched my own aspirations – I had finally found someone who “spoke my language”! Thank you, Mr. Vilppu!
How Do I Do It: With my marker or brush & watercolor or ink & water wash, I draw from LIFE as much as possible.
Clients: Fashion & Accessory Blogs & Magazines, Active/Sports Blogs & Magazines, Advertising, Children’s Book or Educational Illustration, and Cartooning Classes/Art Camps
My designs and photos can be made available, upon request. I am also available for freelance projects.
